China’s DeepSeek Calls for AI “Whistle-Blowers”

Chinese AI start-up DeepSeek spoke at the World Internet Conference, with researcher Chen Deli reaffirming its push for advanced AI despite potential societal risks and urging “whistle-blowers” to report AI-driven job losses.

This marks the second recent public engagement for the low-profile Hangzhou-based start-up, signaling a cautious move to engage on AI’s ethical and economic impacts of advanced AI technologies.

Olivia Rodrigo Slams DHS for Using Her Song in Deportation Video

Filipino American popstar Olivia Rodrigo criticized the Department of Homeland Security and the Trump administration after her song was used in a video encouraging undocumented immigrants to self-deport. She called it “racist, hateful propaganda,” prompting Instagram to remove the clip.

Rodrigo has previously spoken out against deportations in Los Angeles, highlighting the contributions of immigrant communities and advocating for human rights. Fans have praised her for using her platform to support social causes, including aid for Gaza and abortion access.

Sonia Raman Becomes ​​First Indian American WNBA Head Coach

The Seattle Storm has named Sonia Raman as their new head coach, making her the first Indian American to lead a WNBA team. Raman, who previously served as an assistant coach for the New York Liberty and the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies, brings a strong background in analytics and player development to her first head coaching role.

She joins Natalie Nakase as one of only two Asian American head coaches in the WNBA and expressed hope that her role will inspire future generations.

🚀 Alex Kim, Co‑Founder & President of Paywatch (Malaysia), secured US$20 million in a Series A funding round co‑led by Kakao Pay and Artem Ventures to expand the company’s earned‑wage‑access and financial‑wellness platform across Southeast Asia.

🚀 Inforbip Shift 2025, one of Europe’s largest developer conferences, held its first-ever Asian edition in Kuala Lumpur on November 4, 2025. The event brought together developers, founders, and AI experts from across Southeast Asia to explore emerging technologies.

🚀 Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, joined the India Deep Tech Alliance as a founding member and strategic adviser, helping the consortium secure over US$850 million to support AI, semiconductors, robotics, and space startups in India.
