Candid Conversations on Venture Capital and Entrepreneurship With Anna Fang

Anna Fang is the CEO of ZhenFund, an early-stage venture fund that has invested in over 600 startup companies, particularly in e-commerce and AI, with successful investments in unicorns like RED (XiaoHongShu), Perfect Diary, and Horizon Robotics. Anna began her career in investment banking at JPMorgan in New York City and later helped expand M&A efforts at GE China before joining ZhenFund in 2011.

In a recent interview with AHN Ventures, Anna shared insights about her venture capital journey, the high standards ZhenFund maintains for selecting founders, and the evolving landscape of early-stage investments.

Shiba Inu Kabosu, Internet Meme, and Dogecoin Mascot Dies at 18 🐾

The world has to say goodbye to a furry icon this week. Kabosu, the Shiba Inu dog whose side-eyed “doge” expression had taken the Internet by storm, peacefully passed away on May 24 at 18 years old, its owner announced in an Instagram post. 

This famous canine was adopted by Sato, a kindergarten teacher, after a Shiba Inu breeder went out of business and sent the dogs to a shelter. Kabosu then went on to capture the Internet’s attention with her radiant smile and laughing eyes. 

The meme later became the face of Dogecoin, a cryptocurrency that started as a joke in 2013 and eventually gained value in 2020 with endorsements from Tesla CEO Elon Musk. 

Kabosu will be remembered for her role in internet culture and the positivity that she has spread to countless individuals.

More Than Captions: Tencent’s Innovative Service Brings Movies to Everyone 🎬

Tencent and China Library for the Blind officially launched “Barrier-Free Theatre” on May 17th, making popular films accessible for visually impaired users. 

These adapted versions, featuring detailed audio descriptions, allow viewers to follow the plot like a radio drama. The platform prioritizes accessibility by seamlessly integrating with screen-reading software and placing the feature prominently on the app's homepage. With AI, Tencent streamlines production, reducing script creation time from 30 to 10 days.  

Offering over 600 titles across genres, “Barrier-Free Theatre” is a significant step towards digital inclusion, aligning with Tencent’s ESG focus on social impact through technology.
