Lolo Kiko: A Light in the Storm šļø
This week, the world has been shaken by the devastating news of Pope Francisā passing. For a predominantly Catholic community like Filipinos, this news came to them as a shock and a storm after the Holy Easter joy. Lovingly known as the beloved grandfather āLolo Kiko,ā Pope Francis goes down as a beacon for Catholic valuesācompassion and support for the poor and marginalized.
Millions recalled his historic 2015 visit to the Philippines, where his humanity and warmth left a deep impact on the locals. That visit was more than a ceremonial tourāit was a moment of healing for a nation still reeling from the devastation of Typhoon Haiyan.

Robots Hit the Ground Running: Chinaās First Humanoid Half-Marathon š¤
China hosted the worldās first humanoid robot half-marathon in Beijing, where 6 out of 20 robots completed the 21-kilometer race alongside human runners. Tiangong Ultra, a 1.8-meter robot with long legs and a human-like running algorithm, won the race despite needing three battery swaps and a human helper to prevent falls.
It marked a major step from lab demos to real-world applications in Chinaās robotics push.
With mass production targets by 2027, China aims to lead in affordable, advanced humanoid robotics.
