Despite no Thingyan Festival, the Satuditha was still held. (Image source: Xinhua)

Myanmar’s Recovery After the Earthquake Reveals a Quiet Strength

While this year’s Thingyan Festival in Yangon will not forgo its usual music and dances, the Satuditha charity feast—a centuries-old tradition—still brought communities together in solidarity. From March 25 to April 7, water festival pavilions also rose across Yangon, already funded by seven companies.

This is the Burmese spirit: culture preserved in hardship, hope woven into recovery. Their love for heritage proves that even the deepest wounds can heal when a community stands unbroken.

Lego Opens a Factory in Vietnam That Runs on Clean Energy 🧱

Lego officially opens its $1 billion factory in Vietnam and says it will entirely run on clean energy. Vietnam’s rapid industrialization and net-zero ambitions make it a prime investment hub, especially with strengthened U.S. trade relations shielding projects like Lego from volatility.

Mimi Vu, founder of the consultancy Raise Partners in Ho Chi Minh City, states, “Sometimes it takes a big company, like Lego, to take those risks.” With a factory spanning 62 soccer fields, Vietnam and Lego are optimistic about the cooperation. “Lego and Vietnam, we are having the same aspirations. We both want to be green, to play our part in the climate.” Jesper Hassellund Mikkelsen, Senior Vice President Asia Operations at the LEGO Group, says.

MYSTERY SOLVED 🔍

The imposter is option #3 - Everyone eats spicy noodles for breakfast all three days.

  1. True – Sand pagodas
People build sand stupas at temples to cultivate karmic merits.

  2. True – Elephants join water fights

In countries where elephants are common, these lovely animals are part of the water fights too. Yet, animal welfare has become more regulated to preserve and protect both the elephants as well as the attendees.

  3. False – Spicy noodles every morning

There’s no tradition of eating spicy noodles for breakfast all three days—this one’s just for fun! 😄
